Estonian national contact point
You are visiting the homepage of the national contact point for cross-border healthcare. Here, you will find answers to questions, such as in which countries and what kind of healthcare is it possible to receive in Europe and in the rest of the world with the insurance of the Estonian Health Insurance Fund. How to proceed to receive help, what does it cost, how is it reimbursed, what to bring on your travels, etc. Information is also provided to other insured residents of European Union (hereinafter “EU”) member states who receive medical care in Estonia.
Because Estonia is a member of the European Union, the people insured by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund have several possibilities to receive medical care while staying in EU member states under equal conditions with the persons living and insured in those countries. For this, you must have the European health insurance card while travelling in the EU. It is also possible to plan a visit to a medical facility of another EU member state and apply for financial assistance from the Health Insurance Fund to cover the resulting medical costs.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Netherland, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic.
