Representatives of the Health Insurance Fund Shared Estonia's Experience in China

A seminar on “Management of Health Insurance Budget“ was held in Beijing on May 25 - 28, where the financing of the Estonian health insurance was introduced by the Estonian experts Hannes Danilov and Triin Habicht.

At the seminar, people involved with social insurance in China learned about the experience of EU member states: how to make the planning of budgets within the whole system and monitoring of their implementation more efficient. As the social insurance system in China is organised on four levels (state, province, city and county level) and all provinces have formed their health insurance financing systems somewhat differently, the cash flows and cash management is a major issue.   The event was held within the joint project “Social Insurance Reform in China” of the EU and China. Approximately 150 participants from all parts of the country attended the seminar. Besides Estonia, experts from the Netherlands, UK, Austria and France shared their experience.
