The budget of 2010 of Estonian Health Insurance Fund passes first reading

At a session held today, the budget of 2010 passed the first reading in the Supervisory Board. The revenues are estimated to be in the amount of 10 923 million kroons and the costs be in the amount of 11 493 million kroons. Retained earnings are planned to be used the in the maximum amount - 570 million kroons. The prices of health services will decrease by 6%. The new prices are valid until December 31, 2010.

The budget is based on conservative economic forecasts, predicting the decrease of social tax by 9%.   The Supervisory Board instructed the Minister of Social Affairs to present the renewed list of health services to the Government of the Republic for final approval.   "By decreasing the prices of health services we don’t have to degrade the access to health services," said Hannes Danilov, the Chairman of the Management Board.   The Supervisory Board meets for the second reading of the budget of health insurance on December 11.   Yours sincerely, Evelin Koppel Public Relations Manager
